Encaustic

Encaustic is an ancient art form that incorporates the use of melted beeswax and tree resin mixed together in what is called encaustic medium. The earliest pieces of encaustic art that have been found date back to 80 AD, and were discovered in great condition. The encaustic medium allows me to layer images, embed objects such as leaves, and build up textures. It is both versatile and durable, and has countless applications.
